Folio: the wedding app that keeps planning simple

Folio: the wedding app that does not make planning harder

Most couples start their wedding planning in a spreadsheet. One tab for the guest list, one for the budget, one for the tasks. That works until the third vendor quote, and then it is chaos. Cells that shift, formulas that break, two versions that no longer match.

Folio is a wedding planner app that solves that problem. Everything in one place, together with your partner, without needing a course in Excel.

What is included?

Guest list. All your guests in one overview, with day parts, dietary needs, and RSVP status. Filter by who is coming, who has not responded, and who is joining in the evening. No more scattered lists.

RSVP via personal link. Each guest gets their own link. No login hassle, no app to download. They fill in whether they are coming, how many, and whether they are vegetarian. You see it instantly in the overview.

Budget. Vendors, quotes, deposits, remaining balances: everything by category. You see at a glance how much you have spent and how much is left. No broken formulas, no "which tab was it again." Curious what an average wedding costs? Check our overview of costs by category.

Tasks. A wedding checklist app with 100+ tasks that are automatically filled in based on your wedding date. Check off, add notes, divide between the two of you. The list is split into categories (venue, attire, photography, etc.) so you can see what is still open per topic.

Timeline. The schedule of your wedding day: moments with times, locations, and people responsible. Rearrange with drag-and-drop. Share it with your MC so they always have the latest version.

Seating chart. Visually arrange your tables. Drag guests to tables, keep in mind who should and should not sit together. Easier than Post-its on the kitchen table.

Gift registry. Your wishes in one place, with links and categories. Share the list with guests via your wedding website.

Wedding website. Your own page with your story, practical info, RSVP, and gift registry. No separate tool needed.

Why not just use a spreadsheet?

Spreadsheets are free and flexible. Nothing wrong with that. But after a few weeks of planning, you run into the same problems:

Folio solves this by putting everything in one environment. Guest list, budget, tasks, timeline are all connected. When you add a guest, they count towards your budget. When you check off a task, you see the progress. And your partner always sees the same data.

Why not The Knot or WeddingWire?

Those platforms are not bad, but they have a different business model. They make money from vendors who pay to be shown to you. That means ads, recommendations that are not necessarily the best, and a platform that does not primarily work for you.

Folio does not earn from your data and shows no ads. There is no marketplace, no "recommended vendors" who paid for that spot. It is a tool, not a platform that sells your attention.

Another difference: Folio is built in Europe with privacy at its core. The interface is available in English and Dutch, the checklist covers international wedding conventions, and your data is stored on servers in Germany. Not in the US.
